Townsend is a tourist destination and employs workers both locally and from other areas. Because Sundays are typically the busiest day for these workers, CHARM volunteers go from motel to motel taking weekly Bible study guides, bottles of water, snacks, and cards of encouragement. During the off-season, many of these workers are laid off but still reside in the area. In order to help with small practical needs for these workers and other residents of Townsend, a Blessing Box has been placed in front of the CHARM building containing non-perishable food, items of clothing, and personal hygiene products. Everything is available free of charge. Items may be left or taken anonymously from this box.
